I developed the internship plan based on activities that will improve my knowledge and skills and help me transition into the position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in Giddings I.S.D. which I will assume in July of 2011.
My goal was to create activities that will not only help me develop the skills which I have identified, but to also help meet the needs of my school district this Spring and Summer. The main areas that I focused upon were helping the district prepare for the anticipated budget shortfall, preparation for the transition to the STAAR assessment, and developing an plan for district wide professional development for the 2011-2012 school year.
I tried to include a reflection, summary, or written report at the conclusion of each activity. I believe that this is a good practice in order to show that the activities have been completed and to allow we to reflect upon the knowledge or skill that was gained from the activity.
I really appreciate the insite you give us by having to do the job already. I like your ability to think like a superintendent.
